Harold Greer, 86, of Birmingham died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital East.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019, 11 AM to 12 PM at Elkins East Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 12 PM in the chapel, with Marty Fraley officiating.  Burial will be at Center Star Cemetery.

Mr. Greer enlisted in U.S. Air Force in 1950.  After enlisting, went to Sheppard Air Force base Wichita Falls, Texas for basic and aircraft maintenance training, after training, assigned to Air Sea Rescue unit based in Hickam Field Hawaii.  During time in Air Force rose to rank of Airman First Class.  He left the Air Force in 1954 then attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Miami, Florida receiving a degree in Aviation Maintenance.  After graduating from Embry-Riddle, Harold accepted a position in Aviation Maintenance at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, Georgia.  During a 30 year career with Delta, he also worked in Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama.
