Funeral for Harold L. Long, 82 Decatur, will be Wednesday, January, 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5 until 8PM at the funeral home. Mr. Long, who died Sunday January 16, 2011 at Parkway Medical Center ER, was born on July 28, 1929 in Morgan County. He served in the United States Army. He started the Longs Battery Co. in 1960. He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lawrence County. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lena Long; two sons, James Morgan and wife Debra and Mike Long and wife Penny; one brother, Danny Long; nine sisters, Nell Messias, Hilda Smith, Doris Metzger, Teletta Doss, Martha Griffin, Patsy Long, Wanda Helms, Brenda Long and Rhonda Penney; three grandchildren, Cory Long, Brandy Davis and Misty Morgan; two great grandchildren, Brily Davis and Ayden Davis.
