Funeral for Harry Augusta Perry, 79, of Decatur will be Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Archie Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Perry, who died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at his residence, was born June 11, 1928, in Cullman County to Henry and Annie Mae Edge Perry. He was a graduate of Vinemont High School, and served in the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and retired from the Army National Guard. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a career law enforcement officer who served with Hartselle Police Department, as Chief Deputy and as an investigator for the Morgan County Sheriff''s Department, and as investigator for the Lawrence County Sheriff''s Department. He was also Major for the Mental Health Police at Lurleen Wallace Center and head of security for the Morgan County Courthouse. Mr. Perry was a 50-year member of the Rising Sun Lodge No. 29 F & AM, a member of Mary Lou Dancy Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and Zamora Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Henry Perry. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marie Chastain Perry; daughter, Anna Perry Davis of Decatur; granddaughter, Laurie Davis Mills (Jon) of Anniston; two brothers, Donald M. Perry and Bobby D. Perry, both of Decatur; one sister, Peggy Hinson of Decatur; and one uncle, Raymond Edge of Cullman.
