Funeral service for Hazel Ruth Watkins, 84, Decatur, will be Sunday Oct. 16, 2016 at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Simpsrott and Rev. Harold Coomer officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Watkins who died Friday Oct. 14, 2016 was born on March 24, 1932, in Moulton to Ross and Irene Lancaster.
Mrs. Watkins, with friends and her daughter could be found with her guitar singing Bluegrass and Southern Gospel at most churches and Retirement homes in Lawrence and Morgan counties. That was something she truly enjoyed.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Lipscomb, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, Robin Watkins and daughter, Ginger Pitts.
