Funeral service for Helen Genette Cole Owens, 73, of Decatur will be today at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Kerby officiating. Burial will be in Aldridge Grove Cemetery. Visitation was on Saturday at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Genette, who died Thursday, December 5, 2013, was born May 29, 1940, in Moulton to Herold H. and Christine Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Opal Cole and Evelyn Simpson.

She is survived by her brother, Harold "Buddy" Cole (Charlotte) of Pensacola, Fla.; niece, Chasity Cole Nichols (Mark) of Decatur; nephews, Chad Cole (Rebecca) of Robertsdale, Ala. and Mickey Simpson of Calhoun, Ga.
