Helen Shelton Putnam Helen Marie Shelton Putnam, 85, passed away on December 25. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Elkins East Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chuck Canterbury and grandson, Dillon Putnam, officiating. Mrs. Putnam was an expert seamstress and tailor. She worked for Colony Men''s Shop and Parisian in Florence and also made clothing for friends and family for many years. Her family and her home were very important to her, and she devoted her life to lovingly caring for them. Mrs. Putnam is predeceased by Zelotes Stancel Putnam, her loving husband of 66 years, and by her parents, Vinson and Isabelle Shelton. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Ora Haraway, Leona Howard, and Reba Stevenson. She is survived by her children; Wanda McGee and husband, Kendrick, and Ronnie Putnam and wife, Janet. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Allison Stock and husband, Damian, and Dillon Putnam and wife, Jessica; as well as her great granddaughter, Lila Stock. Her devoted nieces and nephews are Alton Haraway, Doris Chandler (O.W.), Coy Haraway, Neva Huffaker (Milton), Ethel Shelton, and Hilda Geci (Kenneth). Pallbearers will be Alton Haraway, Coy Haraway, Kenneth Geci, Donald Chandler, Bryce Romine, and Gary Atkerson. Her family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staffs of Columbia Cottage Assisted Living and Glenwood Healthcare for their loving care. Deepest appreciation is also extended to Dr. Danny McFall, Dr. Robert Webb, and the nurses and caregivers at ECM Hospital.
