Helen Shumaker's Obituary
Helen Shumaker, age 94 of Florence, passed away at her residence on Friday May 15, 2009.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 2 pm at the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev.Gary Formby will officiate. Burial will follow later in the week in Shippensburg, PA.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Shumaker.
Mrs. Shumaker moved from Winter Park, Florida, to Florence in 1996. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Florence and also the D.A.R.
Mrs. Shumaker is survived by her sons, Conrad Pitts and wife Rachel, of Florence, Alabama, Neal Pitts and wife Meri, of Orlando, Florida, and Jeff Pitts of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Laura K. Pitts, Elizabeth G. Pitts, Meredith P. Smith and husband Brad, Teresa E. Pitts, Stefanie P. Nadeau and husband Steve, and Jessica C. Pitts; and great granddaughters, Addison Grace Smith and Avery Katharine Smith.
Her family wishes to give a special thanks to Mona Allen, Lisa Grossheim, Melody Pickens, and Renee Prater for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Shumaker.
The family asks for the omission of flowers.
