Henry "Lewis" Faucett age 76 of Florence, Al, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Visitation will be held on February 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with service to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at Mayes Ward- Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Ga., with Stephen Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Ga. Elkins Funeral Home of Florence assisting the family.
Mr. Faucett was preceded in death by his parents, Omar Lewis and Elizabeth Hopkins Faucett. His niece, Heather Hardin Pope. And his brother-in-law, Keith Harlan Sewell.
Lewis is survived by his wife Janet Zachary Faucett of Florence, Al. Sister, Martha Ann Hardin of Rockmart, Ga. Brother-in-law, William Daniel Hardin of Rockmart, Ga. Sister-in-law, June Zachary Wallace of Madison, Ga. Brother-in-law, Stephen Gary Wallace of Madison, Ga. Two nieces, Hayley Hardin Kelly and husband Will of Marietta, Ga, and their son Jackson Kelly. And niece Mary Wallace Noe and husband Kevin Lee Noe of Huntington, Wv. Two nephews, Brian Keith Sewell and wife Jennifer Brown Sewell of Madison, Ga, and their sons, Alexander Keith Sewell and Robert Anderson Sewell. And nephew Rabun Zachary Wallace of Statesboro, Ga. Also, great-nephews, Noah and Caleb Pope. As well as many cousins and extended family.
Mr. Henry Lewis Faucett was a graduate from Marietta High School- 1956. A graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology earning a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in 1960. He was soloist and President of the Georgia Tech Glee Club. Worked as a chemical engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority from June 1960 until he retired in 1994. And was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was President of TVA Credit Union. Was a Long time member of the Florence Downtown Lions Club, Chairman of the Lions Club Antique Show as well as Chairman of the Lions Club Bean Day, and Treasurer of the Lions Club. He served as treasurer of the Shoals Community Theater where he also was an actor, singer, as well as designed and build sets for the Shoals Community Theatre. Lewis was a member of the Florence First United Methodist Church and sang in church choir since 1960.
