Funeral for Vernon Woodard, 80, of Moulton will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Moulton Church of Christ with O.D. Bowling officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the church. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Woodard, who died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at his home, was born October 5, 1933, to James "Jim" Woodard and Bessie Parker Woodard. Mr. Woodard was a loving husband, father and friend. He was retired from Monsanto. He was a cattle farmer and loved being outside. Mr. Woodard was a member of Moulton Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; and sister, Beatrice Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Knight Woodard; two daughters, Vanessa Jordan and Felicia Green and husband, Darryl; three grandsons, Colton Jordan, Zane and Zeb Green; brother, Sherman Woodard(Minnie Sue); and one sister, Nadine Thornton (George).
Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews and friends.
