Herman L. Brewington | Visit Guest Book Funeral for Herman L. Brewington, 86, of Moulton will be today, March 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Agee officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Brewington, who died Saturday, March 17, 2012, was born January 14, 1926, in Lawrence County to Herman H. Brewington and Emmaline Garrison Brewington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sarah Brewington and daughter, Paula Ridgeway. Mr. Brewington's military service spanned over a period of 40 years. He served 14 months in World War II in the South Pacific and after the war he served his country in the National Guard until he was called back to active duty in 1951 during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he continued serving in the National Guard until he retired at age 60. Mr. Brewington's community honored him for his service to our country by naming the local armory after him. Survivors include his wife, Ozell Parker Brewington of Hartselle; three daughters, Patricia Jackson and husband, Bobby, of Moulton, Fran Collins and husband, John, of Estelle and Karen Lang and husband, Joe, of Moulton; two brothers, William E. Brewington of Trinity and Chester Brewington of Houston; two sisters, Beatrice Rylant of Decatur and Edith White of Michigan; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Coffee Drinkers of Moulton.
