Mr. James Herman Hammond, 96, passed away on Saturday, August 09, 2008. The funeral service will be Sunday, August 10, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. at Elkins East Chapel. Bro. Danny Pettus will officiate. Burial will follow in Pettus Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 10.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Edith Mae Hammond, son Charlie Hammond, Parents James M and Minnie Hammond, eight brothers and one sister.
Mr. Hammond is survived by a daughter: Betty Hammond of Lexington, son: Billy Neal Hammond and wif Pat of Killen, two brothers Stanley Hammond of Lawrenceburg, TN and Austin Hammond of Bonner Town TN, three grandchildren Jill Gibson, Ginger Cole and Joey Hammond, three great-grandchildren.
