Decatur
Graveside service for Howard Carroll, 83, of Decatur will be Thursday, December 1, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Reverend Edwin Hodges officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.
Mr. Carroll, who died Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home, was born February 10, 1928, in Limestone County to the Reverend John H. "Jack" Carroll and Edna Hawkins Carroll. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his brothers, the Rev. John H. Carroll and Harry S. Carroll.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rachel Lansdell Carroll; two sons, David Carroll and Tim Carroll; one great-grandson, Christopher Britt; and two sisters-in-law, Eunice Carroll and Mary Ruth Carroll, both of Florida.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of North Alabama.
