Howard N. Lumpkins, 78, of Florence passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 noon on Thursday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Steve Huskey officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Howard was retired from Reynolds Aluminum, served as former mayor of his hometown of Iron City, Tennessee and worked on a pit crew in the ASA Racing Circuit. He enjoyed driving the shuttle and parts delivery trucks for the Damson Dealerships. He was a Free Mason and also a member of Faith Church where he took great pride in serving as a door greeter.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Lumpkins; son, Chris Lumpkins; daughter, Lori Walters (Harvie); and grandchildren, Mitch and Carlie Walters.
Pallbearers will be Tony McKey, Michael Kelley, Clay White, Heath Clark, Steve Barkett, and Tommy James.
