Ida Othell Gilchrist age 86 of Florence passed away Friday August 24, 2012. Visitation will be Monday from 10am till 11am at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence. Graveside services will be at Tri Cities Memorial Gardens at 11:30am with Dr. Richard Gillespie officiating. Ida was preceded by her husband J.W. Gilchrist. Son, James R. Gilchrist. Daughter-in-Law Debbie Gilchrist. Sisters, Opal Britton and Odell White. Brother, John Fleming. She is survived by her son, Ronnie L. Gilchrist and wife Elise. Seven grandchildren, James H. Gilchrist and wife Stephanie, Leigh Anne Gilchrist, Meredith J. Gilchrist, Julia F. Matthews and husband Randall, Rachel Gilchrist, David Gilchrist and John Gilchrist. Two Great-greatchildren, Aria Gilchrist and Paul Matthews. Brother, Ollis Fleming and wife May. Sister, Dorthy Johns. And numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Gizzell Sherrod, Vicky Sargent and Sandy Allen. As well as Hospice of the Shoals.
