Ila Haddock May, 88, of Florence, died on Monday, June 21, 2010.
Her visitation will be Wednesday, June 23 at First United Methodist Church of Florence at 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Pope. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. May was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Mary Douglas Bender Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and was active in the Salvation Army Women''s Auxiliary, Maude Lindsey Kindergarten Program, Friends of Kennedy Douglas Art Center, and the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville May; a sister, Vera Holtsford; and brothers, Earl, Louis, J.H., and Ellis Haddock.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan Taylor (Mark) of Auburn, Bonnie O''Steen (Bram) of Florence, Debbie Heard (Mark) of Decatur, Amy Hudson (Harold) of Birmingham; grandchildren, Joshua Taylor (Stacy), Molly Taylor, Emily Brown (Luke), Sara Beth O''Steen, Mary Ila Ward (Drew), Graham Heard, John Hudson and Emma Hudson and one great-grandchild, Ila Katherine Brown, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mitchell Hollingsworth, especially Station Six, and Dr. William A. Hobbs.
