Funeral for Irene Beene, 75, of Decatur will be today, July 25, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with John Fike officiating. Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery. Mrs. Beene, who died Monday, July 23, 2007, was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Lawrence County to James A. Jordan and Evie K. Jordan. She retired as a longtime caregiver for the elderly. She was preceded in deathby her husband, CharlesBeene; her parents; andher sister, Christine Stephenson. Survivors include one son, Charles Beene and wife, Monda; one daughter, Charlotte Graham and husband, Bennie; two nephews, Anthony and Mitchell Tippett; and several great-nieces and nephews, all of Decatur. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Tippett, Zack Tippett, Eric Tippett, Roger Cobb, Chip Cobb and Charlie Alexander.
