Mrs. Irene W. Kerby, 84, of Town Creek, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Cottage of the Shoals.
She was a native of Colbert County, but resided in Lawrence County most of her life. She was a member of Roden Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Elliott Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Jeremy Kerby and Ashley Crisler officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Kerby, grandson, Frankie Crisler, parents, Kumpy and Virgie Waldrep, brothers, Curtis Waldrep, Howard Waldrep and Hubert Waldrep, sister, Martha Odell.
She is survived by daughter, Judy (Greer) Crisler, Town Creek and son, Wayne (Debbie) Kerby, Hatton. Grandchildren, Athena (Shane) Harrison, Wolf Springs, Greta (Matt) Cooper, Russellville, AL., Ashley (Emily) Crisler, Spring Valley, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kerby, Rogersville, Leslie (Jamie) Hammell, Rogersville, Joshua Kerby, Athens. Fifteen great-grandchildren.
Brothers, David (Robbie) Waldrep, Jimmy Waldrep, Leighton. Sisters, Ruby Cole, Oregon, Cammalia Gipson, Michigan, Betty Vinson, Tuscumbia and Brenda Irons, Cullman.
The last years of her life she enjoyed piecing quilt tops. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
