JE Barringer, 84, of Rogersville died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at ECM Hospital.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 6-8 P.M. at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 1 P.M. in the Chapel, with Bro. David Lash officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.
JE was preceded in death by the mother of his children Martha Lane Gargis Barringer, son Robert Barringer, parents Jim and Guyula Barringer, brother Ernest Barringer, and sister Pruda Thornton and husband Tonis.
Mr. Barringer is survived by his wife Jorda Marie Miller Barringer; daughter Teresa Staffe (Klaus); five sons Gary Barringer (Janice), Jerry Barringer (Shana), Jimmy Barringer (Peggy), Anthony Barringer (Trudy), and Greg Barringer (Cynthia); brother GE Barringer (Doris); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
JE attended Elgin School and retired from TVA as a crane operator. He was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed commercial fishing, gardening, and walking with his twin brother GE.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
