Funeral for J.D. Kidd, 87, of Town Creek, will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Hatton Church of Christ with Chris Miller, Donald Kidd and Carol Welborn officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at the church.
Mr. Kidd, who died Saturday, June 4, 2011, was born March 11, 1924, in Colbert County to Wheeler Kidd and Ann Hagood Kidd. Mr. Kidd was a deacon at Hatton Church of Christ. He loved children and the outdoors, and was a Little League baseball coach for many years. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Porter Kidd; two daughters, Sharon Fiddler of Wildersville, Tenn., and Carol Welborn of Moulton; son, Donald Kidd of Town Creek; brother, Wheeler Kidd Jr.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eric Kidd, Blake Welborn, Matt Martin, Chris Hood, Landon Roeder, Jim Lampley, Daniel Skelton and Billy Joe Wimberley.
