Funeral for James Franklin Brakeman, 75, of Decatur will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Callahan officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Brakeman, who died Saturday, September 3, 2011, was born November 17, 1935, in Morgan County to the late Frank Joseph Brakeman and Lillan Wilburn Brakeman. He was a Baptist. He retired from Wayne Farms. His daughter, Debbie Brakeman, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Brakeman; three sons, Keith Brakeman and his wife, Angie, of Moulton, George Brakeman of Jacksonville and Bobby Brakeman of Decatur; one daughter, Rebecca Seals of Decatur; three brothers, Bobby Brakeman, David Brakeman and Richard Brakeman; one sister, Lillan Gregory of Decatur; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
