Obituary

James Horace Burns, 89, a lifelong resident of Elgin Crossroads, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
Horace was a proud veteran of the Korean War, and was retired from TVA, as a pipe fitter. He was a member of Center Star Church of Christ, devoting his life to the Lord's service.
He was a loving husband, he was striving to get better so he  again could  be with his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Elizabeth Jones Burns.  Horace was an accomplished musician.  He loved being with family, visiting friends, gardening and enjoying the simple things in life.
Horace was the son of Perry and Tamsie Foust Burns. He was preceded in death by two children, Gregory Lynn and Pamela Kay Burns, his parents, his sisters, Anne Wright, Dot Coats, Ruby Gooch, Faye Howard, Judy Weems, and a brother Jackie Burns.  He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Elizabeth, and sister Glenda Cox, sister in law, Wanda Burns and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly
Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2019, 1-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel; Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Bill Lyons officiating. Pall bearers will be by friends and members of the Center Star Church.  Burial will be at Barkley-White Cemetery.
