James Donald Ingrum, Sr., age 77, of Florence, passed away at his home Friday, October 8, 2010.
The family will receive friends at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. The Rev. Mike Pope will officiate. Burial will follow in the Florence Cemetery.
Jim was born in Anderson, Alabama. He graduated from Lauderdale County High School and attended Florence State University. Family and history were very important to him and he became a member of the Historical Preservation Society. He loved to collect, restore and sell antiques and he was a long-time member of the First Methodist Church, Florence. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, Sheffield Plant.
Jim is survived by sons William Franklin Ingrum III, James Donald Ingrum, Jr. and Brian Jason Ingrum and wife Denise; grandchildren Carrie Elizabeth Ingrum, William Stewart Ingrum, Amy Beth Ingrum, James Donald Ingrum III, Joseph Lee Ingrum, Rebecka Anne Ingrum, Jason Tucker Ingrum, Madison Alexandria Ingrum and Logan Rivers Ingrum; three great-grandchildren; sister Linda Ingrum Martin; several special nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Tonice Jason Ingrum and Mabel Elizabeth Newton Ingrum, his wife Rena Joyce Ingrum, and sisters Virginia Nell Braswell and Elizabeth Ann Olive.
Pallbearers will be Jim Donahue, Stefan Pittner, Matt McCord, Darren Duncan, Ronnie Newton, and Doug Newton.
The family thanks Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, neighbors, friends, and family members providing care over the last several years, and owes a special debt of gratitude to nurse Joyce and the employees and staff of Southern Care Hospice.
