James C. ''Jim'' Pettit Decatur Graveside service for James C. "Jim" Pettit, 80, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Lillian Eddleman officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Pettit, who died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, was born June 1, 1927, in Jefferson County. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include two sons, Mark Pettit and Dante Pettit, both of Decatur; daughter, Kathy Pettit Nix of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Phillip Pettit of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and companion, Glenda Pettit.
