Funeral service for James Arthur Long, 39, of Neel will be Friday, January 21, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Marty Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Long, who died Monday, January 17, 2011, was born September 5, 1971, in Morgan County to James Roger Long and Phyllis Kaye Finch Long. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Hollis Long, Ruth Long and N.L. Finch.
He is survived by his father, Roger Long and mom, Rita; his mother, Phyllis Finch Long; his wife, Amanda Long; two stepchildren, Melissa and Caleb; brother, Jonathon Long; two sisters, Melanie Sherman (Rick) and Melissa Jones (Dallas); and grandmothers, Lois Finch and Margie Ridgeway.
Pallbearers will be Jason Boyd, Jeff Witt, Dale Parker, Matt Hockett, Ed Morris, Kevin Long and Rodney Long.
