Memorial service for James "Jim" Rice, 80, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Riverside Senior Living 1109 Line St. NE Decatur. The Reverand Dallas Crowell, pastor of Austinville United Methodist Church will be officiating and Ridout's Brown Service Funeral home directing. Burial will be at a later date in Fort Payne. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Rice, who died Saturday, June 29, 2013, was born June 8, 1933, in Dekalb Co. to the late Frank and Sue Rice. Jim served in the United States Marine Corp. for 2.5 years during the Korean War.

Jim is survived by his only sister, Phyllis Rice Whittle; three nephews, Steve (Irene), Mike (Jana), and Chris (Jana) Whittle.
