James William
Richardson
February 18, 1931 – January 29, 2018
James William Richardson had an address change from this life to the glory world. He passed at home Monday, January 29. He was born February 18, 1931. We are so blessed to have had him 86 years.
James worked at Reynolds thirty-six years until he retired. He also was a member of the Labor Union over fifty years. He was always a very faithful worker. He took very good care of his yard and his cars. He also loved to help take care of the Barnett cemetery, and would drive his cub tractor around the community taking care of the neighbors as well.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise; beloved son, Larry James Richardson. He leaves behind a daughter Wanda Lovelace; his favorite son-in-law Marshall; granddaughter Marcie fiancé Justin; grandson Jacob wife Kristy; great-grandsons, Jake, Luke, and Braxton Lovelace.
He loved his family and the Greenhill United Pentecostal Church very much. He was a faithful member over fifty years. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, which was so true of the life he lived. The people of his community would say if he does not make it to Heaven there will be no need for us to try. He loved to visit his relatives and anyone else whom he thought might need a word of encouragement. He would drive near and far picking up people for church. He is so well spoken of by his family and friends, as well as the doctors and nurses whom he came in contact with.
Pallbearers will be special friends and family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018, 11 AM to 1 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the chapel with Rev. Greg Shockley and Rev. Shane Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Barnett cemetery.
We are all so blessed beyond measure just to have known this man. He was the kindest and most humble man you could ever meet. Special thanks to Kindred home Health, Lexington Clinic, Doctors and Nurses during his sickness. For the thoughts, prayers and all the visitors we have had in the last month. To God be all the glory for a life well lived.
