James Tyndal "Ty" Davis, III, 25, of Florence, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 after a sudden illness.
Ty was a 2002 graduate of Coffee High School and was attending the University of North Alabama. His goal to become a nurse anesthesist is an example of his willingness to help others, including those less fortunate. Ty was known for his big smile, which lit up the room, his loving, giving heart, and compassionate way.
He was loved deeply by his family and will be missed by them, including his nephew Davis, who had a special place in his heart. Ty enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He attended Faith Church.
The family will receive friends at Elkins Funeral Home, Tuesday October 20, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Church with Rev. Henry Melton and Jim Summers officiating. The casket will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Ty is survived by his parents Tyndal and Debra Davis, of Florence; a sister Sara Elizabeth Gussio and husband Gregory, Ridgeland, MS; a nephew and niece Davis Havens and Mary Cille Gussio; maternal grandmother Betty Jean Hamilton, Florence.
Pallbearers will be Trey Goldstein, Johnny Buskirk, Eli Anding, Benji Tate, Gregory Gussio, and Andrew Bernauer.
