Janet Marie Helton Wheeler Hargis, 68, passed away May 11, 2020, at her residence in Killen, AL. Ms. Hargis was born the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Helton & Edna Niece Helton on May 26, 1951, in Letcher County, KY.She was an employee of International Paper Company for over 30 years.

She is survived by 3 children, Marci Wheeler of Lusby, MD, Jason Wheeler of Georgetown, SC, & Natalie Scott of Killen, AL; and 3 grandsons, Aaron Collins of Killen, AL, & Liam Millican & Jacob Wheeler of Myrtle Beach, SC.

She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Jefferson Helton (Debbie) of Talbott, TN, a sister, Annette Lee of Georgetown, SC, 2 very special friends who were like daughters, Christy Thomas and Deanna Altman, her fur baby, Gizmo, & a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, 4 sisters, Della Marcum, Yvonne Hall, Mary Ruth Johnson & Theresa Noble; 3 brothers-in-law, Ed Marcum, Buck Hall & Ted Noble.

No services will be held but a small ceremony will be conducted in July on the beach in Pawleys Island, SC.
