Janice Hammond, age 55, of Lexington passed away on Saturday August 30, 2008 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hammond will be on Friday September 5, 2008 at 11 am at Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Ray Latham and Kenny Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 4, 2008 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Elkins East Chapel.
Mrs. Hammond is survived by her husband, Clay Hammond of Lexington; two sons, Eric Brumley and Jamey Hammond and wife Melissa, and Nana''s precious girls, Skylar and Mattie, all of Lexington; two sisters, Peggy McGee of Lexington, and Angie McCrary and husband Rodney of Anderson; father in law, James "Jr." Brumley of Lexington; two sisters in law, Peggy Meredith and husband Phillip of Scottsboro, and Mitzi House of Lexington; brother in law, Steve Hammond and wife Sherry of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hammond is preceded in death by her late husband, Dwight Brumley; one son, Matt Hammond; her parents, Buford and Edna Shook; her mother in law, Mary Brumley; her brother in law, Norris Hammond; her father in law, Lawrence Hammond; her mother in law, Ruby Hammond; and her mother in law, Verna Hammond.
The Elders of the Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Awareness.
