Obituary

Jeffie Cowart McLemore, 78, of Moulton died Friday, January 4, 2008 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Funeral will be Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Moulton Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl Wood officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. She will lie instate one hour prior to the service Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6 to 8 at Moulton Baptist Church. Jeffie was born in Calera, Alabama and graduated from Calera High School. She attended Judson College and Graduated from Auburn University in 1950 with a B.S. degree in Pharmacy. She and her late husband Carl McLemore owned and operated The Drug Shop in Moulton for 47 years. Jeffie was a faithful member of Moulton Baptist Church where she was actively involved in many ministries. She also was active in the community where she served on the Moulton Housing Authority, the Moulton Merchants Association, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, and was previously honored as The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of The Year. Mrs. McLemore was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ray and her parents Cecil and Frances Will Ivy Cowart of Calera. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Ray (Debbie) McLemore of Moulton and Lee Jeffery (Amy) McLemore of Birmingham, and her daughter Carla (Charles) Crosslin of Moulton. Grandsons Martin Stephen McLemore, Trent Ray McLemore, Trey Lucas McLemore, Lee Jeffrey McLemore, Jr., and granddaughters, Reagan Elizabeth Gillespie, Kinsey Rebecca Gillespie, Frances Lee McLemore and Shelton Carla McLemore; brother Stephen Daniel (Betty) Cowart of Calera and sister Frances Cecile (Robert) Lochridge of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be Tom Arnold, Tommy Burch, Keith Gilley, Bill Littrell, Mike Littrell, Tommy Praytor and grandson, Martin McLemore, Trent McLemore, Trey McLemore and L J McLemore. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Drug Shoe Coffee Drinkers. Memorials may be made to Moulton Baptist Church Land for the Future or the National Parkinson's Association.
