Jerri (Tomlinson) Clanton

Funeral for Jerri Tomlinson Clanton, 82, of Decatur will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Ridout's Brown-Service funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM. The family will have a visitation from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Clanton, who passed away September 8, 2023, at her residence was born on October 17, 1940 in Danville, Alabama to John Wade Tomlinson and Myrtle Templeton Tomlinson.

She graduated from Danville High School in 1959 and attended Florence State College.  She was a member of Westmeade Baptist Church.  She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends around the pool.

She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters James Tomlinson, William Tomlinson, Nathan Tomlinson, Ione Richardson, Ruth Blackwood and Renee Pike.

She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Clanton of 57 years; daughter Raeann Clanton Steele of Decatur; son Jason Clanton (Beth Ann) of Pittsburgh; brother Tommy Tomlinson of Birmingham; grandchildren Laura Bryant (Clay), Matthew Steele (Jennifer), Ethan Clanton, Avery Clanton, and Everett Clanton; great grandchildren Bayleigh Bryant and Braxton Bryant.

Pallbearers will be Ken Lott, Floyd Bost, Matthew Steele, Clay Bryant, Ethan Clanton, Tim Bisch, and Jack Moores

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Affinity Hospice and Hospice of North Alabama.
