Jerry Wayne “Guru” Fowlkes, age, 69 of Florence, Alabama, passed away Sunday August 30, 2026. A memorial will be announced later date on his Facebook page.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents James and Ruth Fowlkes, sisters. Sandra Kay Stults and Debra Scott, and nieces. Amber Haddock and Courtney Scott.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Joshua (Julie) Fowlkes of Florence, Alabama, and Justin Fowlkes of Chicago, IL. Grandson, Shane Wheeler, Florence, Alabama. Brothers, Jimmy and Robert Fowlkes, both Florence, Alabama. Sister, Patsy (Vance) Pitts of Florence, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry Wayne ‘Grur’ worked in the tool and die machine shop industry for over 30 years. Throughout the years, he made many friends with work and doing Karaoke, and dancing with all the ladies. Jerry loved riding his Harley and hanging out with his friends. He will be missed by many but especially by his family.
