Jerry S. Putman, 72, of Rogersville died Monday, June 27, 2011, at Vanderbilt Hospital. Visitation was Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Elkins East Chapel, with Pat Driskell officiating. Burial will be at Barnett Cemetery. Mr. Putman retired after 28 years with Sears. He was a member of Teamster Local 402, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Rogersville, Rogersville Masonic Lodge 147, Cahaba Shrine Center Huntsville, Muscle Shoals Shrine Club, and York Rites of Huntsville. Mr. Putman was a loving husband, father, and a very proud grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Lera Putman and son Jerry Spencer Putman, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances Putman; two sons, Randy D. Putman (Kathie) and Kevin W. Putman (Vicky); sister, Faye Corsetti (John); three grandchildren, LCPL Spencer Putman, USMC, Brandon W. Putman, and Matthew B. Putman. Pallbearers will be Shriners-Kenneth Davis, Robert Lash, J. C. Bergin, Evan McCarley, Terry Bolton, Leo Stonecipher, and Charles Lamar. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Joe Putman and Chris Putman.
