IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jesse
Payne
February 9, 1991 – April 15, 2025
Jesse Weston Payne, 34, of Florence, Alabama, was born on February 9, 1991, and passed away on April 15, 2025.
Jesse leaves behind his loving wife of 14 years, Casey Payne and their two beautiful daughters Emma and Lillie, whom he absolutely cherished and adored.
He leaves behind a prized collection of nieces and nephews that all loved their Uncle Jesse and other family members. Those family members are: sisters, Sheila Jones (John) and Sarah Deleon (Heather Shoemaker); and brother, Matthew Deleon (Kylee); Nieces: Shelby (Peyton), Kyleigh, Addie, Evalyn, Kori, Eleanor, Brooklynn, and Kirby. Nephews: Jackson, Easton, Bubba, and Elijah. His stepmother, Pam Payne. And many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kaye Payne; Grandparents Jesse Lee and Janice Payne; and Wayne and Mary Damron; and his Granny Ruby. He followed his father Butch Payne in death.
Jesse graduated from Wilson High School in May 2009 and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Jesse was an athlete and loved all things sports related, but had a special passion for football, especially Alabama football, a deep love passed down from his father. No matter the time of year you could always find Jesse at a sporting event from umpiring at Underwood Ballfield to helping coach baseball and basketball, to flagging at motorcross races. Jesse was the adult you would see right in the middle of all the kids playing. He never missed an opportunity to put a smile on a kids' face, encourage them or teach them what he knew.
While Jesse's passing was marked by a complete tragedy that we will never be able to understand, we ask you to remember him the way we will: as a loving husband; a father that absolutely adored and was dedicated to his girls who were the very best parts of him; an uncle that always played with his nieces and nephews; a brother who was always there; a friend who would go to the end of the world to help in anyway.
Alabama football games will never be the same. Roll Tide, Jesse! You are already missed.
A private memorial will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
