Jewel Barnett, 85 of Lexington passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at Elkins East Chapel from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. A service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. Jerry Marlow will be officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lillie Barnett; brothers James Louise Barnett, Aaron Billy Barnett, JD Barnett; and sister Wilma Barnett. She is survived by sisters, Willie T. Putman, Emma Jean Wilson; brother, Roy Barnett; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of truth Word Baptist Church. Though she did not have children of her own she was the caretaker of the family and especially all of her nieces and nephews.
