Mr. Jimmie Garland Heisler, age 79 of Decatur, passed away on October 2nd, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be held at Ridouts-Brown Service Funeral Home in Decatur from 6pm - 8pm on Thursday, October 5th. Church Services will be held at Grace River Community Church on Friday, October 6th at 11am. Burial will be held at Midway Memorial Gardens. The family will have refreshments and be receiving friends at Grace River Church following the committal services at the graveside.

Mr. Heisler was a man of many talents. During his life he was an accomplished, published, and recorded songwriter; an author; and over all, a master of all trades. His family describes him as a life enthusiast, and a man who had the biggest heart. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and the best dad in the world.

Mr. Heisler is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Hamm and Norma Jewel Blevins Hamm; and a brother, William David Hamm. He is survived by his siblings, Deborah Gibson and Jane Reed; children, Krista Ann Heisler and Jimmie Garland Heisler, Jr.;  daughters-in-Laws, Jolie Perez and Lena Heisler;  grandchildren, Danny (Victoria Hill), Ashley, Abby, Micah. Juana, Jimmie III, Zach, Nate, and Nicole; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Alleiyah, Jayden, Remira, Bryson, Elora, Zacharriah, and AnnABelle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
