Jimmy Leon Demastus, Sr. age 76, of Decatur died on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Demastus will be on Saturday August 7, 2010 at 10 am at the First Independent Methodist Church of Decatur with Hal Daigre and Charles Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday August 6, 2010 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the church.
Jimmy was born on April 14, 1934 in Lawrence Co. Alabama to Walter and Alma Brumbley Demastus. He was a faithful member of the First Independent Methodist Church of Decatur. Jimmy was a carpenter by trade for a majority of his life and loved the art of woodworking.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Betty Demastus of Decatur; his daughters, Rebecca Cook and Regina Stidham, both of Haleyville, and Patricia Ann Demastus of Hartselle; his sons, Jimmy Demastus, Jr. of Hartselle, James Demastus of Haleyville, Tommy Demastus of Atascadero, CA, David Demastus of Bay Minette, AL, Jeffrey Demastus of Cool Springs, AL, Timothy Demastus of Moulton, Greg Demastus of Decatur, and Steven Demastus of Eva; 20 Grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy, David, Jeffrey, Timothy, Greg, and Steven Demastus.
Donations and memorials may be made to the First Independent Methodist Church of Decatur, 3 Oxmoor Flint Rd., Decatur, Al. 35603.
