Funeral for Jimmy Roy Rodgers, 88, of Decatur will be Monday, April 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Bottom officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Mr. Rodgers, who died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Lawrence County to Jim and Viola Reynolds Rodgers. He was a retired truck driver and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Smith Rodgers, and his son, Jimmy Roy Rodgers Jr. Survivors include three grandchildren, Holly Rodgers Castille (Ashley), Diana Rodgers and Victor Rodgers; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews. Special thanks to River City Care and Hospice of the Valley.
