Mrs. Maggie Josephine Phillips, 86, of Florence, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her home following a lengthy illness.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Henry Melton will officiate. Burial will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery. Visitation was Friday night.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Franklin County and lived most of her life in Florence. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle and had enjoyed camping and traveling the country in their motorhome. She was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband E.L. Phillips.
She is survived by daughters, Sherry Lynn Hanback, Florence, Shellie Ann Fortner (William), Fulton, KY, Shirley Jean Coleman (Steve), Florence; son, James Lee Phillips (Donovan Fritz), Columbia, TN; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, A.V. Lee (Joseph), Florence.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Lee, Thomas Lee, Lawrence Lee, Steve Coleman, Alan Hanback and Jonathan Peck.
