Graveside service for John Murphy Daniel Sr., 84, Decatur will be Wednesday Jan. 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Bro. Leon McCafferty officiating. Mr. Murphy who died Saturday Dec. 31, 2016 was born on Dec. 17, 1932, to Rudy Daniel and Mamie LouElla Waldrep Daniel.
He was a member of Moulton Church of God. Served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1951 as Combat Eng., retired Prof. Painter for General Repair. He was preceded in death by his wife; Lucille Fuller Daniel and a son; John Murphy Daniel Jr.
He is survived by a son; Anthony Daniel and wife Dawn, two daughters; Phyllis Piper and Theresa McDonald and husband Tommy, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
