Visitation for John D. "Sonny" Ferrell, 75, of Decatur will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home from noon to 4 p.m. Mr. Ferrell died on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his granddaughter''s home. Mr. Ferrell was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Dean and John D. Ferrell Sr. and sister, Catie Nally.
Mr. Ferrell served in the United States Army for 22 years, and was in security for 22 years with Battles Security and Murray Guard Service.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ferrell; three sisters, Judy Helmintoller (Robert), Theresa Berry (Ed) and Dianne Fuller (Jerry); two brothers, Bobby Ferrell (Marianne) and Leon Ferrell (Dianne); two sons, Chris Ferrell and David Ferrell; two grandchildren, Coty Way and Ciara Ferrell; two great-grandchildren, Brodie Ferrell and Brayden.
