John R. Jones, Sr., 77, of Killen died Tuesday at his residence. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, 10AM, at Elkins East Chapel with David McKelvey officiating. Burial will be at Killen Cemetery. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Valera Faye Heathcock Jones; daughter, Linda White (Robert); son, John Robert Jones, Jr. (Mary Sue); three granddaughters, Heather Parham, Molly McBrayer (Vance), and Abby White; two great-grandchildren, Addison McBrayer and Tanner Parham. Mr. Jones loved spending time with his family and friends and working on cars and motorcycles. Pallbearers will be Vance McBrayer, Phillip Carter, Earl Tank, Steve Heathcock, Craig Heathcock, and Bunk Peck. The family would like to express their thanks to the caregivers, Vanessa Young, Lisa Pelletier, and Karen Balta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer''s Association.
