Decatur
Visitation for Maj. John C. Kubina, 62, of Decatur, will be today, December 1, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will have a private service. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Kubina died November 26, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on September 29, 1950, to Chester J. and Florence L. Kubina. He retired from the United States Army with over 20 years of service and was a combat medic in the Vietnam War and a decorated Vietnam veteran. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Daniel J. Kubina and Chester J. Kubina Jr.; and his parents.
He is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Morris (Carl), Quyen McClain and Kimberly Whitlock (Chad); sister, Linda Kubina; and six grandchildren, Jordyn, Gabrielle, Brynn, Abigail, Clara and Samuel.
He was a beloved father, brother and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
