Funeral for John Leldon Lowery, 89, of Decatur will be Monday, July 7, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Lowery, Dr., James M. Castleberry, Dr. Bernie Enzor and Dr. Johnny Padalino offciating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Lowery, who died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Parkway Medical Center, was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Morgan County to Ewell and Emily Lowery. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. He was deacon for over 60 years, serving at his churches in Montgomery and Decatur. He was a Gideon and member of the Decatur West Camp. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Lowery; one son, the Rev. David Lowery and wife, Joy; and one sister, Mildred Hill, all of Decatur; two grandchildren, Melissa Padalino and husband, Dr. Johnny Padalino, and John Mark Lowery and wife, Dara; and three great-grand-children, David Padalino, Michael Padalino and Cameron Lowery. Pallbearers will be Eli Christopher, Jackie Burney, Glenn Davis, Eugene Speegle, John Mark Lowery and Michael Runager. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hill, Kenny Runager and Roger Engel.
