Johnny McCarthy, 77, of Florence died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Vanderbilt Hospital.

A private family Mass will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father John officiating.  A public graveside service will be at St Michael's Cemetery.  Masks are required.  Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. McCarthy was a loving husband, amazing dad, and an awesome "Big Pops".  He loved music, riding his tractor, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Venus S. McCarthy; daughters, Cecilia McCarthy and Kathleen Morgan; four grandchildren, Ansley, Parker, Carter, and Chase; three brothers; one sister.

Pallbearers will be Joe Albright, Andy Albright, Tommy Albright, John Charles Crow, Steve Sims, and Steve Balentine.  Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Morgan and Chase Chitwood.
