Funeral for Joseph Chapman, 77, of Decatur will be Friday, January 20, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Ray Remke officiating. Burial will be in the Church Columbarium. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.
Mr. Chapman, who died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, was born November 14, 1934, in Louisiana to Jercy and Beulah Chapman. He was a Little League Coach for 38 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deane LaFoy.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Chapman; four sons, Cal Chapman, Ed Chapman, Tom Chapman and Tony Hopkins; one daughter, JoLayne Braswell; one sister, Betty Tassin; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
