Joyce Franklin, 78, of Florence died Saturday, August 13, 2016, at her residence.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 14, 2016, from 3-5 PM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, August 15, 2016, 10 AM at Petersville Church of Christ, Mrs. Franklin will lie in state from 9-10 AM, with Bro. Sonny Owens and Bro. Adam Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Richardson Cemetery in Waterloo.

Mrs. Franklin was an active member of the Petersville Church of Christ.

Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her husband Lynn J. Franklin; son, Ricky Franklin; brother, Charles Perkins.

Mrs. Franklin was a loving mother to her sons, Garry Franklin (Renee) and David Franklin (Libby); sister, Sarah Irons (Bobby); brothers, James Perkins and Billy Perkins (Myra); sisters-in-law, Eloise Holt and Carolyn Perkins; eight grandchildren, Jason Franklin, Traci Chapple, Jeremy Franklin, Dusty Franklin, Jessie Weatherly, Alisha Bond, Bradley Franklin, and Colton Franklin; numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Perkins, Dusty Franklin, Chuck Perkins, Chris Perkins, Scotty Perkins, and Shaye Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Irons, Bradley Franklin, Colton Franklin, and Dr. Ricky Irons.

Special thanks and prayers go to Petersville Church of Christ for their love and continued support that has been shown during this time. Also, to Dr. Irons, all employees of DaVita Dialysis Center, and all employees of AlaCare Hospice.
