Juanita June Heath Scott, 78, of Florence passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at her residence. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27 at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dewayne McDuff officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Born in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Nita attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was an active member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Florence, helping with Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed making baby quilts and giving them away to new parents.
Nita is survived by her children, Teresa Gaston (Michael) and Carl Scott; grandchildren, Alana Kamm (Rob), Corey Scott, Rebecca Scott, Summer Scott, Meghan Scott, Jessica Blackmon (David), Amanda Fuller, Savannah Burns (Lee), Jenna Suggs (Ben), and Jasmine Fuller; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Kamm, Zoe Kamm, Carter Lynn Blackmon, Addison Suggs, and Emma Suggs; sister, Madeline Schooley; brother, Melvin Heath, step-brother, Gene Coffee; and nieces and nephews, Brian Heath, Darrell Heath, Michael Heath, Bobby Woods, Donna Carter, Bill Thompson, Scott Thompson, Craig Thompson, Georgia Smith, Brad Scott, and Carol Machovec.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Scott; parents, Carl Heath and Stella Heath Coffee; step-father, Irvin Coffee; and step-sister, Patsy Pelton.
Pallbearers will be Bill Thompson, Steve Smith, Guy Smith, David McKinney, Mike Rikard, Chris Judd and Aaron Marquarted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in her memory.
