Juanita Loraine Snook "Jackie" Widstrup Decatur
Juanita "Jackie" Loraine Snook Widstrup passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 3rd, 2010.
She was born December 24, 1937, in the small town of Rolfe, Iowa. With her husband in the Navy, she lived in Boston, Mass., San Diego, Calif., and Charleston, S.C., before settling down in Decatur.
Ms. Widstrup worked at Champion (International) Paper Co. for 25 years before retiring in 2001. She loved to travel and she loved her family. She was a wonderful mother to, and is survived and always loved by her five children, Ronald Paul Widstrup, Decatur, Cheryl Le Hoffmeier, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Gary Alan Widstrup, Kansas City, Mo., Sandra Jean (Brad) Blackwood, Decatur, and DeNita Diane (Jason) Denton. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by one sister, Ethel (Bob) Costa, Fairhaven, Mass., and three brothers, Don (Shirley) Snook, Decatur, Delmer Snook, Lucedale, Miss., and Paul (Joyce) Snook, Vidor, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Widstrup; her parents, Paul and Clinnie (Severns) Snook; sisters, Virginia Marine, Lavonne "Peg" Metz, Beverly Williams and Wanda Snook; brothers, Bill Snook, Glenn Snook, Wayne Snook and Larry Snook. Visitation will be held Sunday November 7th, 2010 at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. with a memorial service following at 2 p.m.
