Obituary

Judy D. Lindsey, age 81, passed away at home on May 30, 2012. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Florence, Hickory Hills Garden Club, Red Hats, and Current Book Club. She retired from a career as a Dental Hygienist. Judy loved tending her beautiful flowers, playing golf at Turtle Point, and traveling the world over. She was a friend to all; but, was everyone''s best friend. Mrs. Lindsey, born in Cherokee, Alabama, to Samuel and Clara Stutts is the proud mother of three sons: Roger Neal Jackson; Donald Odis Jackson, and Ronald Duane Jackson. Upon her marriage to Dr. Rivers M. Lindsey, Jr., she embraced his five daughters: Barbara Lindsey Brown, Paige Lindsey Smith, Meredith Lindsey Price, Courtney Lindsey Dollar, and Stacie Lindsey Tompkins. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Jackson; her parents, and her sister, Hilda Chaney. She is survived by her husband of forty-one years; two sons, Roger Jackson and Ronald Jackson; the Lindsey Girls; and siblings: Mary Mitchell, Virginia Phillips, Bill Peden, and Richard Peden. She will be missed greatly by all; especially by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, June 1st, two o''clock at First United Methodist Church, Florence, with Rev. Mike Pope officiating. The family will greet friend''s ninety-minutes prior to the service in the atrium of the church. Funeral arrangements by Elkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her ten grandsons: Randy Jackson, Jason Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Shaw Darnall, Drew Darnall, Grant Dollar, Drew Dollar, Rivers Price, Fitzhugh Shaw, and Aidan Tompkins, The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Hospice of Tennessee Valley, Dr. Lyman Mitchell, and Elder Care for their compassion and ever-present care. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Florence, Hospice of Tennessee Valley and/or The Salvation Army. "Her children stand and call her blessed.
